I don't want fall in discussion like 'VB vs Others'. You can find a lot of flame related to this topic in newsgroups :) I don't know any NORMAL (not after 1-3 months training) programmers who use VB as a major tool, and I don't know any serious projects written in VB as well... All this is IMHO.
